Intrinsic motivations refer to actions driven by internal rewards. Our intrinsic motivations drive us to live by our values throughout our life and encourage us to follow our passions. These intrinsic motivations are so important that we named our firm after them – Intrinsic Financial Design Group.
In the late 1970s, Stephen (Steve) Waechter watched his mother get taken advantage of by an insurance company while dealing with the grief of suddenly losing her spouse. Driven by the desire to educate and protect people in the regarding insurance and personal finance, he entered the financial services industry in 1980. Through comprehensive financial planning he focused on educating people that financial security doesn’t come from big windfalls, it generally comes from often and early savings.
Seeing somebody’s dream come to fruition is one of the most rewarding things I have experienced; especially after walking side-by-side with them through life’s ups and downs. The sense of accomplishment is so profound when a client realizes that all of their hard work has paid off and they really are where they want to be in life; or they realize what their “why” is and you see engagement in fulfilling their purpose driven by intrinsic motivation.
